Only few voters checked their names in list: UEC

Only a few voters checked their names during the first public display of the electoral rolls for the April 1 by-elections, and many errors are found despite the door-to-door scrutiny earlier this month, according to the Union Election Commission (UEC).

In Latha township in Yangon Region, only 10 percent of the 20,000 voters checked their names at the commission’s offices and about 40 of them submitted forms on minor corrections, according to Daw Ei Ei Khin, the secretary of the township’s UEC.
