At a social camp to fit disabled people with artificial limbs, it was found that the majority of participants were victims of land mines, Daw Yin Yin Nyunt, secretary of U Nu Daw Mya Yi Foundation told The Myanmar Times.

A total of 400 people have been enlisted to attend the camp, which was held on February 16 at Pitakat Thonbon Nikae Monastery in South Dagon township.

Organisers say 1000 people had registered.

The camp was free, and funded entirely by the Indian Embassy in Myanmar with a grant from India’s Ministry of External Affairs. Technology and other forms of assistance required for the camp was provided by Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) with the help of U Nu Daw Mya Yi Foundation (UNDMYF)...
